2015 Ford Edge Features Revealed: First Look
Meet our 2015 Ford Edge! The Edge is new from the ground up and generated a ton of excitement at yesterday’s big reveal in Dearborne, MI. Four trim models will be available early next year; the SE, SEL, Sport and Titanium. Read on for a few new 2015 Ford Edge features we want to highlight for you below.
EXTERIOR: Is slightly larger than the current model, offering more interior space and an athletic design that the Ford Design Chief said was inspired by Edge as the runner as opposed to Edge the boxer.” There’s also an updated grille, headlights and LED tail lamps.
TECH: The new Titanium model at the event featured a panoramic moonroof, navigation system, an eight-inch touchscreen and Sony sound system. There is also a 180-degree front camera, enhanced Active Parking assist and the Sport version will have an electric-based steering system that allows the motor to determine movement based on the driver’s input.
ECO: The Edge lineup is set to come standard with EcoBoost engines and will have at least 245 horsepower, better fuel economy and a 1,591-kilogram towing capacity, according to Driving.ca. And good news for us: the EcoBoost engine can now be specified with all wheel drive (75% of all Edges sold here in Canada have AWD).
SAFETY: The 2015 Edge includes AdvanceTrac with roll stability and curve control. It will include the new glove box airbag with other features available like lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and collision warning.
